Experience in family law

Amba has developed a broad family law practice across multiple firms, progressing from assisting roles to independent file handling and then to managing privately funded family matters as the sole family law practitioner within a legal practice.

Her work includes divorce, financial remedy proceedings, private children matters, domestic abuse and safeguarding enquiries, court documentation, negotiation, settlement advice and case strategy.

Financial remedy work

Amba’s financial remedy experience includes Form E, D81 documentation, consent orders, financial disclosure review, identifying risks or inconsistencies, applying the section 25 Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 factors and preparing matters for First Appointment, FDR and final hearing stages.

Children matters

Amba advises on private children matters including Child Arrangements Orders, Specific Issue Orders and Prohibited Steps Orders. Her approach includes careful consideration of the welfare checklist under section 1 Children Act 1989, CAFCASS involvement and safeguarding issues.

Approach

Amba encourages amicable and constructive resolution wherever possible, particularly where ongoing co-parenting relationships are involved. Where agreement is not possible, advice remains clear, strategic and focused on protecting the client’s position.

Costs and fixed fees

Transparent costs are important in family law matters. Fixed fees may be available for certain defined stages, including selected preparation, document drafting, administrative steps and some hearings.

Some work will remain hourly or bespoke depending on complexity, urgency, court directions and the level of advice or representation required. Costs will be discussed before work begins.

Private paying only

This service is for privately funded family law clients. If your matter may require legal aid, urgent specialist domestic abuse support, or another service outside the private paying remit, you may be signposted to an appropriate provider.
